Stromcore is focused on building powerful lithium batteries that help forklifts keep running, even in tough and cold working environments. With durable technology, smart battery monitoring, and responsible recycling, Stromcore is making forklift power a little smarter and more efficient.
Stromcore Energy Inc. needed a better way to manage exchange rates across QuickBooks Online and Salesforce, especially for transactions using different currencies.
With QB Sync Made Easy, exchange rates are synced automatically and historical rates stay linked to the right transaction dates, making the whole process much easier.
Manual Exchange Rate Updates
The client was manually maintaining exchange-rate information in Salesforce while QuickBooks had its own exchange-rate data. Therefore, keeping both systems aligned was becoming a regular task for the team.
Different Rates in Different Systems
Sometimes, the exchange-rate value available in Salesforce could be different from the one in QuickBooks. Additionally, this could create differences in converted amounts and make financial data harder to compare.
Older Transactions Needed Older Rates
The client was also dealing with historical transactions where the exchange rate from that particular date was important. Using the newest rate for an older transaction could change the final converted amount.
Extra Work for Finance Teams
Finance and operations teams had to check exchange-rate information, update values, and make sure the right rates were being used. This was repetitive work, and honestly, it did not need to be this complicated.
Currency Calculations Could Go Wrong
When a transaction involves another currency, the exchange rate directly affects the converted amount. So, if an outdated or incorrect rate was used, the final Salesforce amount could also be different.
Reconciliation Was Becoming Difficult
When Salesforce and QuickBooks showed different converted values, the team had to spend additional time checking where the difference came from. Moreover, exchange-rate differences made reconciliation less straightforward.
Automated Exchange Rate Synchronization
QB Sync Made Easy was used to automatically bring exchange-rate information from QuickBooks Online into Salesforce. The corresponding information is stored in a dedicated Exchange Rate object, so the team does not have to enter it manually.
Exchange Rates Kept With Their Dates
The solution keeps each exchange rate with its applicable date. Therefore, when an older transaction needs the rate from that specific day, Salesforce has the relevant information available instead of simply picking the latest rate.
Automatic Record Creation and Updates
When exchange-rate information is available in QuickBooks Online, QB Sync Made Easy retrieves it and then creates or updates the matching Exchange Rate record in Salesforce. Basically, the information keeps moving without someone having to do it every time.
Historical Rate Support
The solution also handles historical exchange rates separately. For instance, if CAD to USD was 0.735 on August 1 and 0.748 on August 3, both rates can remain available for their respective dates.
More Reliable Currency Processing
The solution helps Salesforce use the exchange rate applicable to each transaction date, so currency conversions remain more accurate and consistent even when rates change over time.
Easier Salesforce Access
Instead of checking exchange-rate information separately and then maintaining it in Salesforce, the synchronized information is available inside Salesforce. Additionally, this gives teams a much easier way to work with multi-currency data.
With QB Sync Made Easy, Stromcore Energy Inc. was able to move exchange-rate management from a repetitive manual task to an automated workflow between QuickBooks Online and Salesforce.
The solution helps the team keep rates aligned, handle historical transactions properly, and make currency-related processing and reporting much easier, without all that unnecessary checking and updating work.
